Honor X9e Pro packs an 11,000mAh battery — but good luck buying one
Honor is launching a phone with an 11,000mAh battery on September 24 in Malaysia — a capacity so large it exceeds the combined battery size of an iPhone 18 Pro Max (~4,700mAh) and a Galaxy S26 Ultra (~5,700mAh). The device is called the Honor X9e Pro, and the "e" stands for Extreme. No US or UK release date has been announced.
The numbers
The 11,000mAh figure is the headline, but the rest of the specs hold up too. The phone charges at 80W, which means refilling that enormous cell won't take all day. Honor also claims a peak display brightness of 10,000 nits — for context, most top-tier flagships land between 2,000 and 3,000 nits, per Notebookcheck. That claim hasn't been verified by independent testing yet, so treat it with caution until post-launch reviews come in.
The camera system is dual-lens, led by a 108MP primary sensor. The phone comes in four colors — Dawn Gold, Midnight Black, Reddish Brown, and Royal Purple. It carries IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, meaning it's dust-proof and resistant to high-pressure water jets. Reverse wireless charging at 27W has been reported but not officially confirmed.
The endurance pitch
Honor's marketing frames the X9e Pro as the phone you never have to think about charging. For heavy users — commuters, travelers, people who rely on their phone all day without access to a socket — a battery this size is a genuine differentiator. Whether real-world screen-on time lives up to the raw capacity depends on the chipset, which Honor hasn't disclosed yet.
Don't hold your breath for a Western launch
This is where things get complicated. Honor's X series hasn't had a meaningful UK presence since the 9X Pro in 2020, and in the US the situation is even murkier — no Honor X- or Z-series phone has been available there since the Huawei separation. The Malaysia launch may signal a familiar regional-first strategy, with Europe (if it comes at all) arriving months later. Honor does sell through Amazon.co.uk and Carphone Warehouse in the UK, so a later listing is possible — just not confirmed. Full pricing hasn't been revealed even for the Malaysian market yet.
If the specs hold up after independent testing, the X9e Pro will be a serious conversation starter. But until Honor announces a broader rollout, it's one to watch rather than one to buy.
