Honor Magic9 packs dual 200MP ARRI cameras into a 6.37-inch body
Honor has launched the Magic9, a compact flagship that fits two 200MP cameras and a cinema partnership with ARRI into a 6.37-inch frame. It starts at 5,999 yuan (roughly $745) in China — well below the $999 iPhone 16 Pro. No US or UK pricing has been confirmed yet, and Honor's global rollouts typically follow China by eight to twelve weeks.
The phone
The Magic9 uses a flat 1.5K OLED panel running at 120 Hz with a peak brightness of 10,000 nits — though that figure applies under specific test conditions; typical outdoor brightness is 2,000 nits. Bezels measure 0.95 mm, and the body is 8.49 mm thick at 209 g, with IP68, IP69, and IP69K dust and water resistance.
Under the hood sits a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The 8,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery supports 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.
The cameras
The ARRI partnership is the headline feature. Honor's dedicated 6nm H1 chip handles RAW noise reduction, and the rear system includes a 200MP main sensor (1/1.4-inch, f/1.9) and a 200MP periscope telephoto (1/1.56-inch, f/2.6, 85mm equivalent, 3.5× optical zoom) — both with optical stabilization. A 50MP ultrawide rounds out the trio.
ARRI integration brings LogC3 video recording, 87 preset ARRI Looks, a 2.39:1 cinema aspect ratio, and support for an optional Honor G200 external teleconverter that extends reach to 200mm. That's a richer cinema toolkit than the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra's 200MP main and 50MP telephoto pairing, at least on paper. The Honor Magic 9 Pro Max adds a built-in gimbal for even steadier video.

The 55MP front camera uses a square sensor — claimed to be a first for Android — enabling 1:1, 16:9, or 9:16 framing without cropping.
Availability
Magic9 pre-orders opened in China on September 28. The 12/256GB model runs ~$745; the 16GB/1TB version ~$1,043. Honor hasn't announced US or UK prices, but the Magic 8 Pro launched in Europe at around €1,099, suggesting a similar premium over the Chinese sticker. Carrier support from EE, Vodafone, AT&T;, or Verizon is unconfirmed.
For those who want even more range, the Magic9 Super Edition fits an 11,000 mAh battery into the same slim chassis. The phone ships in Popcorn Yellow, Curtain Black, Opening White, and Olive Green.
