Thermal Grizzly and Noctua team up on a near-silent GPU power monitor for $189.90
If you own a high-end GPU and worry about the 12V-2×6 connector failing, Thermal Grizzly and Noctua have a new answer. The WireView Pro II Noctua Edition launched on September 27 at $189.90 / €189.90, adding per-pin current monitoring and automatic power cutoff to protect connectors that have melted on RTX 5090 cards documented across enthusiast forums. The headline change over the standard model is a single component: the fan.
The noise fix
The original WireView Pro II shipped with a fan that spun up to 5,000 RPM and measured 39.4 dB(A) — audible in a quiet room. Thermal Grizzly replaced it with Noctua's 40mm NF-A4x10n, which stays below 2,000 RPM and drops noise to 21.5 dB(A). According to TechPowerUp coverage, Thermal Grizzly CEO Roman Hartung said the redesign was a direct response to user complaints about fan noise. The fan also stays completely off at GPU loads up to 300W, so most workloads are silent.
What it actually does
Beyond the fan swap, the WireView Pro II Noctua Edition is the same monitoring module as the standard version. It sits between the PSU cable and the GPU's 12V-2×6 connector and tracks current on each of the six power pins individually. If any pin exceeds safe limits, the device cuts power automatically. A color TFT IPS display shows voltage and temperature in real time. The CNC-milled aluminum heatsink handles passive heat dissipation.
Per the Noctua official announcement, it also includes two years of extended Thermal Grizzly GPU connector coverage — meaning connector damage is covered under warranty in defined conditions.

The price question
At $189.90, the Noctua Edition costs 58% more than the standard black WireView Pro II (€119.90) and 52% more than the white variant (€124.90). That's a significant premium for a quieter fan — this is a niche product aimed squarely at owners of $1,500–$5,000+ GPUs who want peace of mind alongside silence.
